Building a future-ready workforce
What is MS1’s talent intelligence?
Simply put, talent intelligence is insight into your organization, your workers, and their skills that helps you make data-informed business decisions.
At MS1, our talent intelligence supports and transforms all three product pillars of mobility, upskilling, and recruiting. It also provides a critical intelligence layer to all of the features that we offer.
This platform-wide intelligence layer connects your workforce, their skills, tasks, and market data to support both everyday use of the platform, as well as the generation of strategic insights. This includes AI-powered skill matching at scale, recommendation engines grounded in real data, and learning intelligence.

Taxonomy Management
Chances are, your organization has its own internal language to describe the skills in your industry, but you also want to know how the rest of the world talks about skills.
With Taxonomy Management, you get the best of both worlds. You can use MS1's data-backed skill taxonomy as-is, or import your own skill list to create a custom taxonomy. This makes MS1's skill visualizations more rich and relevant not only to your organization, but to your industry as a whole.

Strengths analysis
All workers can see a skills overview that highlights both their strongest skills and their remaining skill gaps. This includes rich details like frequency of use and years of experience, allowing for a more nuanced understanding of their capabilities. When discussing with your manager where to upskill next, this is a great place to start.

Skill matching to career goals
Skill visualization runs all throughout the platform, including personal career goals. Once you set a career goal, you can compare your current skills against industry benchmarks to track your progress. Trackers and upskilling recommendations will also update when your skill levels advance.
Professional development
Level up with confidence
Understand your strongest skills and skill gaps for both individuals and as an organization. This helps you allocate talent more effectively, upskill strategically, and foster a continual cycle of skill development.

Career paths
In Career Explorer, workers can browse career paths sourced from over 30 thousand real-world career profiles. All paths are matched to the individual by common skills, which helps workers visualize their futures and imagine how they can grow. By selecting a career goal or favoriting a role, they can also come back periodically to check their progress against a career path.

Detailed skills analysis per role
Career Explorer includes both internal roles for your organization and industry standard roles, based on external data. When you look at either type of role, you’ll see a detailed breakdown based on your own current skills. By comparing both, you can see what skills are currently in high demand, both in your company and outside of it.

Set goals and track skill growth
If you find an interesting role, you can set it as a personal career goal to keep track of your progress toward the skill requirements. By tracking your goal, you’ll also get recommendations for courses to fill any skill gaps and find opportunities to connect with peers who have a similar role. Because roles and career paths are grounded in up-to-date, accurate progression patterns, you can benchmark and upskill with confidence.

Define team-specific roles and skills
Every team is different, which is why every manager on MS1 can define custom roles with team-specific skill expectations. You can also create templates from MS1’s research-backed role database or other roles in your organization, then customize to your needs. Creating and assigning these roles is the first step of setting role and skill expectations to your team.

Rate skill levels per member
Once you’ve assigned a role, each team member will have a set of skill expectations to meet for their role. In addition to each member self-rating their skill levels for these skills, you’ll also rate their skill levels as their manager. This is also a good opportunity to clear up any differences in perception before moving on to upskilling conversations. For transparency purposes, all updates to skill level ratings are captured in each member’s skill development log.

Team-wide skill insights
View your members’ progress toward role expectations at the team-wide level. This highlights the biggest skill gaps on the team and where managers can help the most. Conversely, you can also see what parts of your team have the greatest concentrations of high-level skills.
